Share The Joy
As a non-profit theatre, we rely on the generosity of patrons like you to keep The Phoenix Theatre Company thriving as Arizona's oldest arts organization. With nearly 600 performances on multiple stages and thriving education and outreach programs, we inspire more than 100,000 people every year. Every gift, big or small, helps us bring high-quality productions to life and support meaningful community programming like Partners That Heal and The Phoenix Theatre Junior Company, which serve to heal, train, and inspire. Your support makes all the difference.
Below is a list of what Share the Joy donations help fund:
PARTNERS THAT HEAL
Uniting arts and healthcare to improve communication since 2008, Partners That Heal has developed 250+ proven improvisation interventions that improve communication and rapport between individuals and their caregivers.
“It’s so impactful for our family to have that kind of support, outside of the doctors and nurses and everyone else trying to keep her body healthy, they really keep her mind healthy.” - Guardian of a patient
THE PHOENIX THEATRE JUNIOR COMPANY
The Phoenix Theatre Company’s Junior Company gives young artists a place to imagine, create, and grow. Through inclusive classes and camps offered year-round, students of all abilities develop confidence, collaboration, and a love for storytelling on and off the stage.
“They made space for every child to feel seen and celebrated. Our camper found their voice here and with it, a whole new kind of confidence.” - Guardian of a camper
PROFESSIONAL APPRENTICE PROGRAM
The Professional Apprenticeship Program is a testament to our dedication to nurturing the next generation of theatre professionals. Each season, talented apprentices join us straight from higher education, gaining hands-on experience alongside seasoned industry experts. This program offers specialized training across a range of disciplines, including Scenic Painting, Properties, Costumes, Lighting, Wardrobe, Sound, Stage Management, and Directing. Their journey is a transformative experience that equips them to become capable, confident artists ready to make their mark in the world of theatre.
COMMUNITY NIGHTS
Our Community Nights, also known as Pay-What-You-Can Performances, have been a powerful way to foster connections and enrich lives through the arts. Over 2,000 patrons attended our Community Nights over the course of last season, choosing ticket prices that made live theatre accessible for them. We’ve had the honor of welcoming incredible groups, including USVets & VetTix, First Responders from the City of Phoenix, Black Girl Brown Girl Collective, One-N-Ten, Gigi’s Playhouse, and A New Leaf. Each of these special nights is a testament to our commitment to community, inclusivity, and the unifying power of theatre.
